Campaign Rules — "The Great Unlock"
Organiser: Spareya s. r. o. · Effective from: 8 July 2026 · Last updated: 13 October 2026
These rules (the "Rules") govern the conditions, mechanics and legal nature of the promotional activity called "The Great Unlock" (the "Campaign"), organised by the provider of the Spareya Service. By taking part in the Campaign a Participant agrees to these Rules. Defined terms (Service, App, Website, User, Waitlist) have the same meaning as in the other legal documents of the Service (Terms of Service, Privacy Policy).
1. Organiser
- Spareya s. r. o., Lermontovova 911/3, 811 05 Bratislava-Staré Mesto, Slovakia
- Company ID (IČO): 57 718 768; registered in the Commercial Register of the Municipal Court Bratislava III, Section Sro, Insert No. 201128/B
- Managing director: Marek Jankech · Website: https://spareya.eu
- Contact (Campaign, personal data, unsubscribing from the Waitlist): support@spareya.eu
2. Name, purpose and duration
2.1 Name. The Campaign is called "The Great Unlock".
2.2 Purpose. The purpose is to promote the Spareya Service, build a community of interested people before its launch, and gradually make the Service available (unlock it) in individual Districts and Areas based on community interest. The Campaign is a tool for promotion and community-building, not a game of money.
2.3 Duration.
- Waitlist sign-up: is open and runs on an ongoing basis — in all participating countries at the same time. You can join at any point during the Campaign.
- Unlocking (Day X): Districts and Areas that fill up (reach their threshold – clause 5) begin to be actually unlocked from 1 August 2026. Before that day the Service is not live anywhere (only a preview is available); from that day the Organiser activates a District or Area normally within 3 business days of the threshold being reached. A countdown to that day runs on the Website.
- Course: the Campaign is ongoing, with no fixed "end". The Organiser may extend, shorten or end it under the conditions in clause 10. Current dates are always published on the Website.
3. Territorial scope
3.1 The Campaign runs at the same time across the member states of the European Union, in Norway and Iceland, in the United Kingdom (UK) and in Switzerland (CH). Liechtenstein is not included.
3.2 The specific list of participating countries and, within them, the districts and areas (the "District or Area", generally a local unit at district level or its equivalent, including merged and split areas under clause 5.1a) is published on the Website and may be updated during the Campaign.
3.3 No country, District or Area gets a head start — sign-up is open in all participating countries at the same time, and before Day X (1 August 2026) the Service is not activated (unlocked for real) in any District or Area. From that day, filled Districts and Areas are unlocked gradually as they reach their thresholds.
4. Participants
4.1 Who may take part. A Participant may only be an individual who, at the time of sign-up, is at least 18 years old and resides in one of the participating countries (clause 3).
4.2 How to take part. Taking part is free and requires no purchase, stake, payment or other item of value. A Participant fills in and submits a Waitlist sign-up on the Website containing a valid email address and the country and District or Area they are signing up to, and then confirms their address by "double opt-in" (clause 8). A person may also take part by creating an Account in the App with a confirmed email address and a home set (clause 8.1).
4.3 No purchase, no stake. Participation is in no way conditional on a purchase, registering a payment card or paying any fee. Participation is and remains entirely free.
4.4 Excluded participants. Persons under 18 and persons acting contrary to these Rules (in particular clause 8) are excluded.
4.4a Exclusion from ambassador recognition. The Organiser's employees and collaborators, members of its statutory bodies and persons close to them (Section 116 of the Slovak Civil Code) are excluded from ambassador recognition and benefits under clause 7 (but not from the mere counting of a Waitlist sign-up), to the extent their participation could affect the fairness of distributing benefits.
5. Campaign mechanics
5.1 Thresholds for Districts and Areas. Each District or Area in the Campaign is assigned a threshold — the number of verified sign-ups needed to "unlock" it. The threshold is 1% of the population of the District or Area (rounded to the nearest ten), with a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 3,000. Thresholds are published on the Website in advance and are fixed; they are not set by draw or random selection.
5.1a What a District or Area is and how we divided Europe. A District or Area means an administrative district or a comparable local unit. Our aim was for each District or Area to have roughly 10,000 to 300,000 residents — enough people to form a viable community, yet not so many that unlocking is out of realistic reach. We merged smaller units with neighbouring ones and split dense larger cities into city parts/wards. We used public data (Eurostat, national statistical offices, OpenStreetMap, national datasets such as the ONS for the UK). For some cities, public data on internal division does not exist — these remain undivided as one larger unit, i.e. one District or Area (which may exceed 300,000 residents); in every case, however, the threshold is capped at 3,000 sign-ups. Populations and thresholds are published for all Districts and Areas in advance; we will correct any obvious error in the underlying data in good faith.
5.2 Reaching the threshold and unlocking. A District or Area reaches the unlock point when the number of verified sign-ups (clause 8) reaches or exceeds the threshold. After the threshold is reached the Organiser prepares and activates the District or Area, normally within 3 business days (but no earlier than 1 August 2026 – Day X, before which no District or Area is unlocked for real), and announces the exact date to those signed up. This window is used for technical and safety setup of the District or Area.
5.3 What "unlocking" means. Unlocking means the Organiser makes Meetups with people available (switches them on) in that District or Area for the Users who have signed up. Even before activation, the My sport log, Clubs (including training sessions for members of a verified Club only), the map of sports venues, shops and events, and the list of coaches already work; the other parts of the Service remain in preview mode until activation. Unlocking is not a prize, award or reward for any particular Participant — it is making the Service available to the whole community of the District or Area.
5.4 Leaderboard. A live leaderboard of countries (the top countries by number of verified sign-ups) is published on the Website, together with the progress to the threshold for each District or Area (the number of verified sign-ups and the threshold). It serves to inform and motivate; the status recorded in the Organiser's system is decisive.
5.5 Activity, not chance. Whether and when a District or Area unlocks is determined solely by the number and activity of the people signed up, not by chance, a draw or luck.
5.6 Spareya Games. The very first Spareya Games — amateur sports games born from the unlock — are hosted by the District or Area where the first unlock in Europe takes place. This is a community sports event, not a monetary or in-kind prize for any particular person.
6. Legal nature of the Campaign
The Campaign is not gambling, a lottery or a prize competition. It requires no stake, awards no prizes, winnings or rewards, and unlocking a District or Area is not decided by chance but by the number of people signed up (community activity) under clause 5. It is an ordinary promotional activity to build a community. (Under Act No. 30/2019 Coll. on gambling, a game of chance presupposes a stake, chance and a prize — the Campaign meets none of these.)
7. Ambassador recognition and benefits
7.1 No monetary winnings. No monetary winnings are paid out in the Campaign and no benefit can be paid in cash.
7.2 Ambassador recognition and benefits. Participants who go beyond ordinary participation, actively help spread the Campaign and meet the conditions under the Ambassador Terms may receive: an ambassador badge in their profile, ambassador status and a place in the honour section of the Website, and a non-cash benefit — in particular credits within the Service and access to extended functions of the Service once they become available. This benefit has a pecuniary value.
7.3 Nature of the benefit. The benefits under clause 7.2 cannot be paid in money or exchanged for cash and are not transferable to another person. Entitlement arises only on meeting the conditions in the Ambassador Terms.
7.4 Details. The specific conditions for granting recognition are set out in the Ambassador Terms.
8. Verification and anti-fraud
8.1 Double opt-in. Only a verified sign-up counts towards the number needed to unlock a District or Area — one where, after submitting, the Participant confirmed their email address by clicking the link in the email. An Account in the App with a confirmed email address and a home set also counts, in the District or Area of that home. Unverified sign-ups do not count.
8.2 One person — one sign-up. Each person counts only once and in only one District or Area, even if they have both a Waitlist sign-up and an Account in the App. Multiple sign-ups (including with variants of the same email address) do not count.
8.3 Exclusion for fraud. The Organiser may refuse to count a sign-up, exclude a Participant or deny recognition under clause 7 where it reasonably suspects: multiple, false, automatically generated (bot) or temporary email addresses; coordinated abuse or artificial inflation of sign-up numbers; or any conduct circumventing the mechanics or purpose of the Campaign.
8.4 Technical measures. The Organiser may use appropriate technical measures against abuse (anti-bot protection Cloudflare Turnstile, rate-limiting, temporary processing of the IP address) in accordance with clause 9 and the Privacy Policy. Cloudflare Turnstile is deployed without tracking cookies.
8.5 Decision. In assessing suspected fraud the Organiser decides on reasonable judgement and in good faith; the aim is fairness towards honest Participants.
9. Processing of personal data
9.1 In connection with the Campaign we process: email address, country and District or Area, time of sign-up and verification status (double opt-in). For security purposes we may temporarily process the IP address and basic technical data (clause 8.4).
9.2 Legal basis. The consent of the data subject (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by signing up and confirmed by double opt-in; for security data (IP) our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)). For Participants in the UK processing is governed by the UK GDPR (supervisory authority: ICO), and for Participants in Switzerland by Swiss data protection law (supervisory authority: FDPIC).
9.3 Retention. We keep Waitlist data for the duration of the Campaign and until consent is withdrawn / unsubscribed; after the Campaign ends we erase or anonymise it (no later than 24 months). Security data (IP) is kept only temporarily, no more than 30 days, unless a longer period is needed to investigate abuse.
9.4 Unsubscribing. A Participant may withdraw consent and unsubscribe from the Waitlist at any time — via the "unsubscribe" link in every email or by emailing support@spareya.eu. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
9.5 Further information. Details of the processing, recipients and processors (in particular Resend for emails, Supabase for the database), transfers outside the EU/EEA and the rights of the data subject are in the Privacy Policy on the Website. The supervisory authority in Slovakia is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Galvaniho 7/B, 821 04 Bratislava, pdp.gov.sk); for the UK the ICO and for Switzerland the FDPIC.
10. Exclusion of liability, changes and cancellation
10.1 Exclusion of liability. The Organiser is not liable for: undelivered, delayed, incomplete or unverified sign-ups and emails; technical outages, third-party outages or force majeure; conduct of Participants contrary to the Rules.
10.2 Changes to the Rules. The Organiser may change the Rules (in particular thresholds, dates or the list of Districts and Areas) only for serious objective reasons (a change in the law, a decision of an authority, technical/security reasons or correcting an obvious error in the data). A change must not retroactively worsen the position of a Participant who has already met the conditions (in particular where an unlock has already taken place in their District or Area or they have become entitled under clause 7). We notify material changes in advance; they take effect on publication on the Website.
10.3 Shortening, extension and cancellation. The Organiser may shorten, suspend or cancel the Campaign only for serious objective reasons, in a way that preserves the acquired position of Participants who met the conditions beforehand. The Organiser announces cancellation on the Website without undue delay, together with reasons.
10.4 Participants' rights as consumers under the mandatory rules of their country of residence are not affected by this clause.
11. Final provisions
11.1 Governing law. The Campaign and these Rules are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic, subject to the mandatory consumer-protection rules in the Participant's country of residence. This does not affect a Participant-consumer's right to turn to the authorities and courts of their country of residence.
11.2 Dispute resolution. We try to resolve disputes amicably. A Participant-consumer may turn to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body in their country of residence; in Slovakia this is in particular the Slovak Trade Inspection (www.soi.sk).
11.3 Relationship to other documents. These Rules supplement the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the Community Rules and form a single whole with them. On Campaign matters, these Rules prevail.
11.4 Availability. The Rules are available free of charge and continuously on the Website for the duration of the Campaign.
11.5 Effect. These Rules take effect on 8 July 2026. The current version is always published on the Website.
