Spareya Community Rules (Code of Conduct)
Provider: Spareya s. r. o. · Applies to: the Spareya App and Website · Effective from: 8 July 2026 Last updated: 13 October 2026 (location, blocking, levels L1–L3, verification)
0. Who operates Spareya
The Service is operated by Spareya s. r. o., Lermontovova 911/3, 811 05 Bratislava-Staré Mesto, Company ID (IČO) 57 718 768 ("Spareya", "we"). Full identification and contact details are in the Legal Notice. Under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (DSA), the single point of contact for users (Art. 12) and authorities (Art. 11) is support@spareya.eu (SK + EN, not solely automated).
1. Why these rules
Spareya is about one thing: actually meeting up and going to play sport together. We are not a social network for scrolling, nor a dating app. When people meet in person, trust and safety are not nice-to-have, they are the foundation. These rules say how we behave in the Spareya community, what has no place here, and what happens when someone breaks them. They are written in plain language, but we mean them seriously — they apply to everyone equally.
By joining the Service you agree to follow them. They form part of our Terms of Service and are supplemented by the Privacy Policy. They are also part of our terms and conditions within the meaning of Article 14 DSA — they describe our content-moderation tools and procedures. We apply these carefully, objectively and proportionately, with due regard to your rights, including freedom of expression.
2. Who can be in the community
- Adults only, strictly 18+. Spareya is exclusively for people aged 18 and over. There are no accounts for minors — no exceptions.
- Family events — under strict child-safety rules. You may bring your own child to an event marked as family (a hike, family exercise). The following applies:
- The child is always with you as their parent/legal guardian and under your full responsibility. They must never be left alone with another adult participant.
- Any 1:1 contact between an adult and someone else's child is prohibited (accompanying, individual coaching).
- The child has no account and Spareya does not assume supervision of them.
- Programmes and recruitment for young people work only through a verified club in a youth-work mode (with parental consent). See the Club Terms.
- Any suspicion of inappropriate behaviour towards a child (including grooming and child sexual abuse material) is treated as a critical case (clause 8, level L3) and, where necessary, reported to law enforcement and national child-protection helplines.
- Verified people. Before your first meetup you verify once: you look into the front camera for a moment and the Didit service checks that you're a real, live person. No ID needed. When there's a reason (an age of 18 to 20 in your profile, a report, a moderator's request), we also check your age this way; if the estimate is low, a person from our team decides. We don't store the photo or video — we keep only the result and the date (details in the Privacy Policy). Temporarily: we will switch on camera verification through Didit before the first district or area unlocks. Until then, no meetups with people take place; the exception is members-only training sessions of a verified club, where the club knows its own members.
- One real person = one account. No duplicate, fake or proxy accounts.
- Your account is yours. Do not lend, sell or let anyone else use it.
3. How we treat each other
Follow a simple rule: treat others the way you would want them to treat you. Specifically:
- Respect. Even if you disagree with someone, stay decent. A different opinion, level or pace is no reason to mock.
- No harassment. Do not pester people with repeated messages when they do not respond or have blocked you. No means no.
- No discrimination. Gender, age, origin, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, health or body are no reason to demean or exclude anyone.
- No hate speech, no threats or intimidation. A threat of violence or harm is a serious breach — and often a criminal offence. We deal with it immediately.
This applies everywhere in the Service — in chat, in profiles, in club announcements and in person at a Meetup.
4. Safety at in-person Meetups
Most Meetups go perfectly well — but a few simple habits will help you stay safe. Before your first Meetup we remind you of these directly in the App:
- Meet in a public place the first time — a pitch, club, gym, park, running route during the day. Not at someone's home and not in a remote spot.
- Communicate in the App until the Meetup is arranged. Prematurely moving to your phone or Instagram is discouraged (and is sometimes a warning sign — see clause 5).
- Tell someone close to you where you are going, with whom and until when. In your profile you can also set an emergency contact.
- Trust your instinct. If something feels off, leave, cancel the Meetup and report and block the person (clause 7).
- In an emergency call the emergency services. The single European emergency number 112 works across the EU and the UK. In the App we also show local emergency lines for your country. Spareya is not an emergency service and cannot physically protect you — in an acute situation always call the police or an ambulance.
5. Prohibited behaviour and content
The following has no place on Spareya. A breach may lead to restriction or closure of the account (clause 8) and, in serious cases, to a report to the authorities.
Content and expression
- Sexual and explicit content. Spareya is a sports app, not a dating app. No sexual advances, nudity or erotica in profiles, chat or photos.
- Violence and its promotion. No threats, glorification of violence, terrorism or self-harm.
- Hate speech and discrimination (see clause 3).
Identity and trust
- False identity. No impersonation, fake profiles or stolen photos.
- Fraud and manipulation. No extracting money under false pretences, "investment opportunities", romance scams or phishing.
- Spam and advertising. No mass messages, promotion of products, links to external services or recruitment beyond the purpose of Spareya.
Safety rules specific to Spareya
- Do not share contact details before a Meetup is arranged. A premature attempt to move off the App is a common scam pattern — which is why we also flag it automatically in chat (clause 7).
- Photos without consent are prohibited. Do not upload photos of other people without their clear consent.
- Your profile photo must be of you and must show your face. No other people's faces, animals, logos or landscapes — the photo is there so people recognise you at the meetup. We hide photos that break this rule; if it is someone else's face and it happens again, we suspend the account.
- Photos of minors are strictly prohibited — without exception. Any content showing children leads to immediate closure of the account and, where child sexual abuse is suspected (CSAM), to a report to the authorities (clause 7, Art. 18 DSA).
Illegal activities and circumventing the system
- No unlawful content or behaviour (drugs, weapons, stolen goods, copyright infringement).
- No attempts to circumvent moderation, the automatic contact-detection, blocking or age verification.
6. Others' privacy
- Do not share other people's data. A name, address, phone number, photos, location or anything you know about someone must not be spread without their consent.
- Do not track or stalk people.
- The map deliberately does not show people — only places and Meetups. We do not collect or store users' precise location or the location of their phone. Everyone chooses a municipality as their home, and others see only their district or area; the zones used for meetup suggestions are deliberately approximate, about 5 × 5 km. It is our public promise — do not try to circumvent it.
7. Reporting and blocking
How to report. In a profile, message, Meetup or club announcement tap "…" → "Report", choose a reason and optionally add a description. You can also report by email to support@spareya.eu.
Blocking. You can block anyone. You will no longer see each other in profiles or chats, any private chat between you ends, and you will not see meetups they organise (nor they yours). If one of you organises a meetup the other has joined, the other is removed from it. At a meetup organised by someone else you can both stay; the App lets you know that someone you have blocked is there. You can block without reporting, and you can undo a block at any time.
What happens after a report. We follow the "notice and action" principle (DSA Art. 16):
- Receipt. We log the report and send you a confirmation of receipt.
- Assessment. We assess the matter carefully, impartially and without undue delay. We use automatic detection of attempts to exchange contact details in chat (a notice to you and to us — it is only a flag for a human, not an automated decision with a legal effect). We plan to add automated content checks later; their legal basis and operation will be described in the Privacy Policy. For decisions with a serious effect a human is always involved — no suspension or closure of an account happens solely by automated means.
- Action. Depending on seriousness we choose a proportionate measure (clause 8) or remove the content.
- Notification of the outcome. We inform you, the reporter, of the outcome. The affected user receives a statement of reasons with information on how to appeal (clause 9).
Notification of suspected criminal offences (Art. 18 DSA). If we obtain information giving rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence threatening the life or safety of a person or persons, we will promptly inform the law-enforcement authorities of the relevant state and provide relevant information. Where CSAM is suspected we additionally follow special reporting flows. In case of immediate danger to life/health, contact the emergency services first (clause 4).
8. Consequences of a breach
We respond proportionately to the seriousness — graduated for minor and first offences, decisively for serious ones.
Graduated measures: 1. Warning · 2. Restriction of functions (e.g. suspending chat) · 3. Suspension of the account · 4. Closure of the account for repeated or serious breaches.
Serious cases (threats of violence, fraud, sexual content, false identity, content showing minors) are dealt with by immediate closure of the account and, where a criminal offence is suspected, reported to the authorities (clause 7, Art. 18 DSA).
Levels L1–L3 express the seriousness of a case and, accordingly, how quickly and with what measures we act: L1 ordinary moderation; L2 increased seriousness (often with account restriction); L3 critical/threat (immediate action, closure of the account, cooperation with the authorities where needed).
9. Appeal and redress
Any moderation decision can be wrong — so you have the right to object (in line with the DSA).
The statement of reasons you receive (Art. 17 DSA) includes: (a) the type of measure and its scope; (b) the factual grounds; (c) whether we used automated means; (d) the specific rule breached or the legal ground; (e) information on redress.
A complaint/appeal (Art. 20 DSA) is submitted to support@spareya.eu within at least 6 months of notification. You may also submit it against a decision not to act. We assess your appeal again, together with everything you send us about it; it is never assessed solely by an automated system. If we got it wrong, we will change the decision.
Out-of-court dispute settlement (Art. 21 DSA) and the courts. You have the right to turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under Art. 21 DSA; the current list of certified bodies is maintained by the Digital Services Coordinator. This does not deprive you or us of the right to turn to a competent court at any time, nor of the right to turn to the supervisory authorities (including the data protection authority).
10. Contact and language versions
Trust & Safety, accounts, privacy, and the DSA point of contact (Arts. 11 and 12): support@spareya.eu. Related documents: Legal Notice, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Club Terms.
Spareya operates in several EU/EEA countries and in the UK; we make these Rules available in several languages. In the event of conflict between language versions, the Slovak version is decisive, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules in the relevant country provide otherwise. We may update the Rules from time to time; we will notify you of material changes in good time.
