Venues
Sports venues near you on one map
On the Spareya map you can find pitches, sports halls, swimming pools, courts, gyms and other places to do sport. There are more than 380,000 of them in 33 European countries.
You can see venues on the map straight away, even in a district or area where meetups are not possible yet.
Where the venues come from
We take the venues from OpenStreetMap, a shared map of the world that anyone can add to. We update the venue map in Spareya every six months.
What you see for each venue
- Name and sports
- What the venue is called and which sports you can play there.
- Coaches offering training here
- How many coaches offer training at this venue.
- Create a meetup here
- You create a meetup directly at this venue. In a district or area where meetups are not possible yet, you can look at the venue, but you can't create a meetup there yet.
Is a venue missing?
Send us a venue suggestion
In the app you tap “Is a venue missing?”. You fill in “Name or what's there”, and “Where exactly is it” if you want, and mark the place on the map. You just need to be signed in.
We check the suggestion
A person from our team checks the suggestion and adds it to OpenStreetMap for you.
We let you know
We tell you the result in your notifications. The venue appears on the Spareya map at the next update.
The status of your suggestion
You can see the status of each suggestion. A suggestion can be pending, added to OpenStreetMap, not added, cancelled or expired. A suggestion that is not decided within 90 days expires. You can send up to 5 suggestions a day. If a venue is already on the map at that spot, the app won't accept the suggestion.
Custom place
If you meet somewhere that isn't a sports venue, for example at the start of a hiking trail, you choose “Custom place” when you create the meetup. Only the people taking part in the meetup can see the custom place.
