The Great Unlock rules
The main goal of the Great Unlock is to build the biggest community of people who love sport. So that everyone has someone to play with. Whether at home in your own district, area and city, or anywhere in Europe on holiday or a trip. Here's how the whole thing works.
Privacy
This website is operated by Spareya s. r. o. We use the email from the waitlist to confirm your sign-up, to send you your invite link and for news about your district or area unlocking. We will never sell it or pass it on to third parties for their own purposes. You can ask us to delete it at any time at support@spareya.eu. The website does not use tracking cookies.
Who it's for
Anyone aged 18 or over living in a participating country can take part. The whole European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland are taking part.
It's free. No purchase, no payment, no card. And it stays free.
When and how you join
You can sign up to the waitlist right now.
Find your district or area on the map and join with your email. A confirmation email lands, you tap it and you're in.
Only a confirmed email counts. An account in the app that has a confirmed email and a home set up also counts. Everyone counts only once and in only one district or area.
How unlocking works
A district or area unlocks when one percent of its residents sign up, but at least 200 and no more than 3,000 people.
The unlock itself started at the same time across Europe on 1 August 2026. No country started earlier.
When a district or area hits the threshold, it doesn't unlock that very second. We usually give ourselves three working days to get ready, so everything's in place. Meetups with people start there only after it unlocks. Before that, the My sport log, clubs including training sessions for members of a verified club, the map of sports venues, shops and events, and coaches already work there.
What's in it for you
Anyone who joins before their district or area unlocks gets the “Founding member” label. They keep it for good.
After you confirm your email, you get your own invite link. For everyone who joins through your invite link, you get credits once they verify before their first meetup. We will switch on camera verification before the first district or area unlocks. Credits can't be exchanged for anything yet. We will let you know when they can.
Unlocking isn't the end
The counter keeps running. It always shows how many of you there are in the district or area and how many of you are active.
We play fair
The contest is free for everyone and can never be bought.
Only confirmed emails count. We remove fake sign-ups.
This isn't a lottery or a game for money. We don't hand out anything by chance. It's a way to get Europe moving together.
Your privacy
The map shows meetup spots, sports venues and clubs. Never people's location.
Your location is shown nowhere. Full stop.
When something changes
You'll always find the current rules and dates right here on the site. If we ever need to adjust something, we'll do it honestly and transparently.
